In nineteen hundred and six, Philadelphia’s captains of commerce and industry came together to form a country club dedicated to golf, baseball, tennis and the pursuit of happiness through social interaction. They built two fabulous golf courses, a dozen tennis courts, a swimming pool and a sprawling clubhouse. Through this they formed a family of friends that made Philmont a home away from home. Philmont Country Club embraces the ideals of greatness that Ellis Gimbel had, and we continue to strive for the satisfaction of its members and guests. Today Philmont Country Club offers a full array of activities and services to suit every member and guest. Our 88,000 square-foot clubhouse presents a perfect scenic and spacious facility for dining in any of our first class restaurants, as well as hosting any catering function to impress your family, friends and colleagues. Philmont also boasts world class outdoor facilities including two eighteen-hole golf courses designed by legendary architects William S. Flynn, and Willie Park Jr.; ten Har-Tru Tennis courts; three indoor courts and an Olympic size swimming pool. In addition to our athletic activities, Philmont offers exceptional social activities from our specialty dining and children’s events to card playing.
